 RESORT ’13 INSPIRATION

RESORT ’13 INSPIRATION

14 January 2013

Vogue, July 1993

Rebecca’s Resort 2013 collection channels the retro surf culture that so influenced her upbringing in San Diego, California. As the girl who lived by the beach and hung with the boys, the collection pays homage to one who walks the line between feminine and gamine. With references to the 1980s film, The Lost Boys, the collection introduces elements of both surfer punk and rock n’ roll. Mixed with an air of effortlessness and inherent cool are board shorts, flirty dresses, leather, and vivid prints. Sun-soaked and day-glo pastels permeate the collection in sporty ergonomic silhouettes. Fringed jacquard with vivid turquoise, pink and bright white resembles chipping paint weathered from the wind, water and sun, calling to mind the look and feel of our favorite vintage surf films and photography.
