Company Timeline
2005 – Rebecca Minkoff LLC is founded. Siblings, Rebecca and Uri Minkoff, team up to launch the Rebecca Minkoff brand – starting with handbags.
- The Morning After Bag debuts. Rebecca's first collection features the Morning After Bag. Over the years, this style has had hundreds of makeovers.
2006 – Rebecca goes global. Japanese fashionistas are now able to snag a Rebecca Minkoff bag close to home. Isetan, United Arrows and Beams begin carrying the line in Japan. Bloomingdales loves RM. The high-end, department store begins carrying Rebecca Minkoff.
2007 – Classics are born. The Nikki, Clutch, Morning After Mini and Matinee first appear in the collection – now the Rebecca Minkoff classics.
2008 – All about the name. Piggybacking on the catchy pun of the "Morning After Bag", styles such as the "Paper/Plastic" wallet and the "Benjamins" and "Trustfund" pouches are introduced.
2009 – Studs are a sensation. Rebecca starts a trend as the first designer to use studs as an embellishment to classic styles. Studs become the hottest trend of the year!
- Brace yourself! Rebecca launches her belt and bracelet line.
- Oh Baby. Rebecca creates the Knocked Up Baby Bag for, well, ladies in exactly that situation!
- Ready-to-wear is ready. Returning to her apparel design roots, Rebecca launches ready-to-wear.
- Minkettes unite. Minkette.com, the Rebecca Minkoff community site, is launched. Rebecca now has a direct channel to communicate with her customers.
2010 – Fierce on 5th Avenue. Rebecca Minkoff Collection line launches exclusively at Saks 5th Avenue. The handbags feature premium skins, hardware and detailing.
- Hey, Boy! Men's accessories are launched under the Ben Minkoff label.
2011 – Step on it. Shoes are launched in Spring 2011.
