Rebecca Minkoff launches the ‘New York’ Capsule Collection with an Immersive NFT Experience at New York Fashion Week

“New York has always been at the root of my inspiration. As I reflect on 20 years since launching my brand with an ‘I Love NY’ t-shirt, I wanted to create a capsule collection that embraced my love for this resilient city and celebrate the roots of the Rebecca Minkoff brand.”

Each piece in the Capsule Collection encapsulates what this brand has become known for - leather and studs, chunky chains, zippers and fringe. The handbags complete each look with a refreshed take on the iconic Morning After Bag which helped solidify Rebecca as an industry leader in the accessories space.

Together with Yahoo, Rebecca Minkoff is breaking barriers across fashion, art, and technology by introducing a first of its kind immersive NFT experience and auction for consumers on a global scale.

To launch the collection, Minkoff co-hosted an event with Lady Phe0nix at Spring Studios during New York Fashion Week, unveiling her first-ever collection of brand NFTs via a series of collage images.

5 Tips for Spring Cleaning Your Closet

  1. Use drawer and shelf dividers
to keep clothing and categories in place. Anyone else find organizing items by color irresistible or is it just us?!
  2. Vertically stack your clothing
so all of your items are in view. (Your future self will thank you!)
  3. Display items
Your accessories are meant to be worn and loved. Display items including handbags and jewelry in acrylic organizational accessories so you never forget about your favorite pieces.
  4. Style your space
with items reflective of your personality. Make it your special room/nook by placing select meaningful books, photos and memorabilia. Have fun with it!
  5. LABEL LABEL LABEL!
    Did we mention?…
  • Q. Describe your style in three words
    Eclectic, fun, colorful.
  • Q. RM outfit you could live in forever?
    Printed dress and simple heels.

A midi dress, light jacket draped over my shoulders, and 4 inch heels with a tote bag.

Let's Pledge 15%

My heart is broken for the unjust and unfair treatment of our black community, family, and friends. We are at a turning point that demands change and our collective action. As many of us are learning what we can do, I was inspired to see Brother Vellies Founder Aurora James launch the 15% Pledge. Our black community makes up 15% of the population, and the petition calls on retailers to dedicate 15% of their shelf space to black-owned businesses. Aurora hatched the idea last week and already launched a non-profit and is in talks with retail partners. The 15% Pledge can generate billions of dollars into black communities. Take four big companies, like Target, Sephora, Shopbop, and Whole Foods. Aurora estimates 15% of their product budgets alone is $14.5 billion. Imagine the impact those dollars can make for small businesses, from spurring their growth to reinvesting in their communities and caring for their families. Aurora was inspired to create the Pledge when she saw the toll the pandemic has taken on black businesses and believes it’s one step in the path of financial equality. “We are asking big businesses to invest in the future of the Black community,” she shares. “Many Black people choose to spend money with these businesses, their stores are set up in our communities, and their sponsored posts are targeted to us. If they value our money, then value us as well and show us that we are represented.”
